Mrs Bates (Meghan By Andy)

Meghan loves being the third wheel; this is why she became a wedding photographer in London. I always wondered what it would be like to work alongside a great photographer; little did I know I would marry one. Seeing my wife use her skills makes me fall in love with her all over again. Meghan is so passionate about what she does, and she invests so much time and love into every wedding and couple we photograph.

Andy is honestly the coolest guy I have ever met (maybe I'm biased). He is fantastic at everything he does and has this annoying habit of always thinking he is right. Andy is the kindest husband and the funniest dad to our three littles. He has taught me so much about life and we always learn from each other. Andy believes in me and supports me in every crazy idea I have. He is also the guy in the know, if you have any camera questions, ask away. He is a wizard on a camera and one of the best photographers I have met!

What You Can Expect

Bates and Bates arrive before the suit or dress goes on, quietly observing and capturing the anticipation of the morning. They blend in as extra helping hands, stepping in only to nudge you into beautiful light when needed, while keeping everything relaxed and natural.

During the ceremony they remain entirely hands off. No directing. No staging. Just discreet, documentary coverage of every moment as it unfolds. Ahead of the day, they will walk through your timeline with you to understand your ceremony style and any readings you have planned.

After the ceremony, they help organise the confetti lineup, leading into your family formals. These are the most traditional images they deliver. Timeless, beautiful, and captured with a mix of classic frames and natural interactions.

Next come the bridal party photos, with around twenty minutes devoted to group shots and individual combinations. These portraits are fun, relaxed and captured in a way that keeps everyone interacting naturally.

Then it is time for twenty minutes with just the two of you. A quiet moment to breathe, embrace and be together for the first time as newlyweds. Bates and Bates read your energy to see what level of direction you feel comfortable with. Some couples want soft guidance. Others prefer to simply be. These portraits become a collaboration between you and your photographers, filled with intimacy and connection.

Party Time!

Throughout the day, Bates and Bates gather storytelling shots that set the scene, from venue exteriors to weather to untouched spaces before guests arrive. As evening unfolds, they dive right into the dance floor for epic party coverage. After the first dance and cake cutting, they typically stay around thirty minutes.
